Bristol City 3 Gillingham 1

GILLINGHAM surrendered the lead at Ashton Gate as Bristol City took all three points on Saturday.

Gills took the lead on 15 minutes when skipper Michael Flynn finished superbly from the edge of the box after fine link up play between Gary Mulligan and Matt Jarvis.

But the home side equalised 13 minutes later when Alex Russell's cross was met by a stunning volley from right-back Richard Keogh.

Gillingham were grateful to goalkeeper Kelvin Jack when he produced an excellent save to deny Phil Jevons just after half-time.

However, City went ahead in the 77th minute when Jevons broke before setting up Enoch Showunmi to beat Jack.

Substitute Scott Murray completed the scoring late on.

Gillingham: Jack, Jupp, Cox, Sancho (Ndumbu-Nsungu 82), Easton (Savage 88), Bentley, Chorley, Flynn, Crofts, Jarvis, Mulligan.
Subs not used: Johnson, Jackman, Pouton.
