Ebbsfleet 1 Millwall 2

Neil Barrett's strike was not enough for Ebbsfleet against League 1 outfit Millwall at Stonebridge Road on Wednesday night.

Goals from the visitors in each half condemned Liam Daish's men to a friendly 2-1 defeat in front of 1,672 fans.

Millwall took the lead inside two minutes through Chris Hackett only for Barrett to level the scores on 30 minutes with an 18-yard drive which caught out Lions keeper Lenny Pidgeley.

Fleet would have gone into the dressing room ahead but for Pidgeley's excellent reaction save from James Smith's bullet header.

Smith was involved in Millwall's winning goal seven minutes after the restart - his weak clearing header eventually landed at Gary Bowes' feet and was dispatched past Lance Cronin.

Cronin was called on twice again to make smart saves while at the other end, Jon Akinde was unlucky to have an effort cleared off the line.

Fleet have one friendly, at home to Maidstone United on Saturday (August 2), remaining before the real Blue Square Premier business starts on August 9 at Stonebridge Road against Mansfield Town.
