First half stalemate at Boundary Park

Oldham Athletic 0 - 0 Gillingham

NEITHER side has been able to find a breakthrough in a disappointing first half at Boundary Park this afternoon.

Oldham have been the better side, marshalled by the superb Andy Liddell.

The closest either side came to a goal in the first 45 minutes was a Guy Branston header that was deflected just wide of Jason Brown's goal by Leon Johnson 10 minutes before the break.

In the 40th minute, Paul Warne shot straight at Brown when he could have done better.

The home side have looked threatening from corners and Chris Swailes headed powerfully wide in the closing stages of the half.

Gills attacking problems on the road continue as they are struggling to create chances against a side that started the day nine places above them in the League 1 table.

The front pair of Neil Harris and Akwasi Fobi-Edusei have failed to make an impact against the Oldham back four.

Gillingham: Brown, Clohessy, Cox, Johnson, Jackman, Spiller, Flynn, Crofts, Pouton, Harris, Fobi-Edusei.
Subs: Crichton, Hope, Sancho, Rose, Grant.
