GRAHAM JOHNSON: looking to the future with enthusiasm

KENT'S new chairman of cricket Graham Johnson is calling on supporters attending tonight's members' forum to arrive with an open mind.

The county's management team will discuss the past season in detail with supporters and there are expected to be some fireworks.

Johnson will be joined by skipper David Fulton, coach Simon Willis and academy director and 2nd X1 coach Paul Farbrace.

Speaking ahead of the meeting, Johnson said: "We have experienced a number of difficult circumstances in the 2004 season, and we are determined to learn from these.

"We are looking ahead to next season with great enthusiasm and we want to build on what we have achieved this year.

"We are actively in the market for both home grown and overseas player to strengthen the playing squad for next year, and all our contracted players have busy winter training programmes in place."

The members' forum begins at the St Lawrence ground at Canterbury at 7pm.
