Dynamos slay the Dragons

INVICTA Dynamos remain in the play-off reckoning after a 7-3 win over Cardiff Dragons at the Ice Bowl on Sunday night.

A five-goal first period effectively finished off the contest, with Peter Carey, Andy Smith, Elliot Andrews (2) and Ken Forshee on target for the home side.

After a scoreless second period, Cardiff scored two quick goals at the start of the third, before Elliot Andrews completed his hat-trick to make it 6-2.

Andy Smith broke free to deke round the goalie for Invicta’s seventh, rounding off the scoring after Cardiff had grabbed a third consolation strike.

Despite the victory, Invicta continue to play catch-up with the Peterborough Islanders for top spot in the ENIHL Play-off South.

The Cambridgeshire outfit continued their assault on qualification with a 4-1 win against the Dragons on Saturday.
