Dynamos' long season at an end

Invicta Dynamos' long, and at times difficult season, ended last night following a 7-2 defeat against Sheffield ENL Scimitars in the ENIHL Cup semi-final second leg at Ice Sheffield.

Despite the lack of Dynamos' making the trip - 10 regulars were absent again - Sheffield did their best to even up the numbers, with Robert Palmer and Chris Turner taking match penalties during proceedings, for checking to the head and roughing.

A less than dirty game saw 118 penalty minutes dished out by referee Blaine Evans.

Kevin Parrish's squad held a 1-0 lead through Damian Welch at 3.04. The advantage, a 3-2 aggregate lead, lasted just 11 seconds however, and by the end of the first period Invicta were trailing 5-1.

Peter Korff reduce the deficit at 23.18, but Sheffield added two further goals in the second period to put the tie beyond doubt.
