Dynamos forced to postpone cup tie

INVICTA Dynamos have apologised to fans for the cancellation of Sunday night's EPIHL Cup match against Slough Jets at the Gillingham Ice Bowl.

A major problem with the Olympia engine meant it would not have been possible to resurface the ice before the game or during the period breaks.

A statement on the club's official website said: "The ice would not have been safe to play a competitive game.

"We would like to thanks the supporters of both teams, the Slough team and referees for their co-operation when it was announced that the game was cancelled."

Tickets purchased for the game will be valid for the Dynamos next fixture against Lee Valley Lions, if signed by a club director.

The abandoned game will not count for season ticket holders 16 games.

The statement added: "It is hoped we'll be able to announce shortly plans for rescheduling the fixture."
