Dynamos finish group games in style

INVICTA Dynamos rounded off their English League Cup group fixtures with a comprehensive 10-2 victory over Basingstoke Buffalo on Sunday night.

The victory sealed top spot in the South Group B and qualification for the Southern cup final.

First period goals from Jamie Smith and James Fraser were followed by second period markers from Tom Hiscock, his first in a Dynamos jersey, and Elliot Andrews.

The Buffalo briefly rallied at the end of the second period, reducing the score to 4-2, before a six goal blow-out in the third period clinically gave Dynamos a season sweep of results against the Hampshire side.

AJ Smith, Hiscock, Peter Carey, Andrews, Alex Shaw and Karl Lennon all added to the goal tally for the home side.

Saturday evening saw Dynamos drop their first league point of the season, drawing 4-4 away at third-placed Bracknell.

The draw keeps Invicta on top, one point ahead of Streatham.

Icing without five regulars, including new Slovakian centre Tomas Hentek, coach Kevin Parrish suited up for his second game of the season, lasting until 37.46, when he was ejected for abusing the referee.

Andy Smith (2), Lennon and Carey were the Dynamos scorers.
