Dynamos enjoy double cup victory

INVICTA Dynamos regained top spot in the ENIHL Cup Group B with a 6-1 victory over Haringey Greyhounds at the Gillingham Ice Bowl on Sunday night.

The Dynamos netted two goals in each period to make it four consecutive wins in the competition.

Peter Carey slotted home the first goal, before AJ Smith gave them a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period.

The scoring continued at the same pace in the second session when Andy Smith tapped home the third and a Ken Forshee powerplay goal accounted for the fourth.

AJ Smith scored in the third period to make it 5-0 and Alex Shaw wrapped up the Dynamos' scoring with the sixth. Chris Wiggins got the Greyhounds' consolation goal.

The Dynamos had no problems seeing off the challenge of the Bracknell Hornets the previous evening and recorded a 10-2 victory on the road.

Elliot Andrews, in his first game back with the Dynamos, got the visitors' first two goals, before Danny Hughes reduced the lead with a goal for Bracknell.

The second period decided the game as the Dynamos dominated. Andy Smith struck a second period hat-trick, while Tim Smith, Anthony Leone and Forshee netted the other three.

The Hornets scored a consolation goal through Hughes in the final period, before Forshee completed his hat-trick with two goals.
