Dynamos duo could face lengthy bans

Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish has admitted he faces losing both Martin Melichercik and Milan Kostolny to suspensions as the fall out from Sunday’s title clinching victory at Milton Keynes continues.

The Slovakian duo received match penalties, in seperate incidents during the 6-0 win, which automatically carry a one game ban.

However, with Melichercik’s penalty minutes for the year going over the 100 mark, and the nature of Kostolny’s offence (kicking) a big no-no in ice hockey circles, their bans will almost certainly be higher.

"I thought the Melichercik penalty was harsh," said Parrish. "He was on the receiving end of some nasty verbals and got jumped as he left the penalty box, so he just reacted.

"The other incident was ridiculous on the part of Milan. If he did kick out then you can’t excuse that kind of reaction. I’m not at all happy with him because we need a player of his influence on the ice.

"His suspension could be anything from one to six games. If the worst comes to the worst and he misses a lot of games then I believe we have enough depth in the squad as long as the other players step up."
