Draw gives Gate home tie incentive

MARGATE will be at home to Worksop Town on January 31 if they are successful in their FA Trophy, third round, replay against Dorchester at Crabble on Wednesday night.

Worksop compete Unibond Northern Premier League.

Margate came back to draw 2-2 against Dr Martens League side Dorchester last weekend after being two goals down.

Dorchester had seized the initiative with two goals in three minutes from Matt Groves just before half time.

His first, on 42 minutes, followed a square pass from Mark Rawlinson, while his second, right on half time, came after Matt Hann's cross had been headed down by Danny O'Hagan.

Jay Saunders began the Gate comeback, heading home Adrian Clarke's 50th minute free-kick and fellow midfielder John Keister levleled after home keeper Mark Ormerod had dropped the ball under pressure.

Keister and Clarke both went close to nicking a winner for the Gate but were denied by the woodwork.

So now it all depends on what happens at Crabble on Wednesday night.
