BLACKHEATH & Bromley athlete Montell Douglas formed part of Great Britain team that narrowly missed out on a medal in the 4x100m at the World Athletics Championships in Osaka at the weekend.

Douglas and the team finished fourth behind USA, Jamaica and Belgium.

She also made it to the quarter finals of the 100m, but missed out on a semi-final place after finishing sixth with a time of 11.43secs.

Meanwhile, the club's young athlete have been crowned national track and field champions.

The team led from start to finish at the National Young Athletics League Final in Birmingham to beat last year’s champions Enfield & Haringey - who last year pipped them to the title.
