MARCUS BENT: in Charlton's squad for the game at Chelsea on Sunday

CHARLTON have paired top-scorer Darren Bent with namesake Marcus in a £2.5 million transfer from Barclays Premier League rivals Everton.

The deal was completed on Monday night when 27-year-old Marcus agreed personal terms and passed a medical. He goes straight into the squad for Sunday's match at Chelsea.

Though the two Bents are not related, they played together in 2003 for former club Ipswich. Marcus Bent's arrival swells Charlton's former Ipswich contingent to five after following Matt Holland, Hermann Hreidarsson, Darren Ambrose and Darren Bent to The Valley.

To help balance the books, the Addicks have agreed to sell unsettled record signing Jason Euell who interests Birmingham.
