ALAN CURBISHLEY was quick to praise Yeovil Town's players after watching his side's narrow 3-2 win in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The Addicks were made to work extremely hard for their win and were often outplayed by their opponents from League 1.

Curbishley said: "They frightened me. They frightened the team, in fact they frightened us all when the draw was made.

"Overall, it was a great cup-tie and I hope the Yeovil players and their supporters got a lot from it. Perhaps they should have got to 3-3 and who knows what would have happened after that.

"We're seventh in the Premiership but we've been given a real test, so all credit to Yeovil."

Yeovil boss Gary Johnson also credited his team for the spirit and quality shown.

He said: "You don't come to a Premier League ground in the fourth round of the FA Cup to dig a grave for yourself. You come to play and make a game of it.

"It's a question of how you want to look back on the day and how you want people to remember you. We've played a team that's seventh in the Premier League and given them an almighty scare.

"I thought all the fans were magnificent today and it meant a lot to us as a club that the Charlton fans stood and clapped us off at the end.

"I would to think they paid us respect because we came here and tried to play. You can't say more than that."
