Yorkshire v Kent

SEAM bowler Simon Cook was the only change to the Kent side selected to take on Yorkshire at Headingley today.

The former Middlesex paceman came in at the expense of Martin Saggers, who suffered another heel injury in the draw with Hampshire earlier in the month.

But it was Amjad Khan who made the first breakthrough, bowling home skipper Craig White with an off-cutter after Yorkshire had elected to bat first.

Khan jagged one back off the seam to peg back White's middle and off stumps to send the host captain packing for three.

Kent: Fulton, Key, van Jaarsveld, Walker, Stevens, Bravo, Jones, Henderson, Khan, Patel, Cook.

* Mark Pennell's day one report will appear here at the close of play this evening.
