Sailing star Dan Norman is targeting consecutive world catamaran titles after beating more than 50 rivals in the main warm-up event.

The 33-year-old from Rainham is the reigning world champion after winning in Italy, last year.

And the Isle of Sheppey Yacht Club member backed up that success by winning the National Championships at the Parkstone Yacht Club in Dorset over the Bank Holiday Weekend.

Norman now turns his attention to defending his world title in Holland in August.

"It’s a great confidence boost for me going into the worlds," said Norman.

"It’s a bit of an upside down way of winning those titles – it would have been more orderly to win the nationals and then the worlds but I’m not complaining.

"It would be a fantastic achievement to hold back-to-back world titles."
