KEVIN BREMNER: redundancy payment

KEVIN BREMNER, former youth team manager at Gillingham, has settled the case he was bringing against the club for wrongful dismissal.

The 46-year-old former Colchester, Millwall, Reading and Brighton striker, parted with the club at the end of last season - 14 days short of eight years’ service.

He became chairman Paul Scally’s first appointment when he took control of the club on June 29, 1995. The two had been friends when Mr Scally supported Millwall.

The case was to have been heard at Ashford on December 11 but was called off at the last minute.

“I can confirm that the matter has been settled out of court and I will get the redundancy I’m entitled to,” said Bremner.
