Fulham 2 Charlton Athletic 1

JASON Euell’s first goal of the season wasn’t enough to spare Charlton from defeat at Fulham on Saturday.

Despite their league position the home side have a fine record at Craven Cottage this season and took the lead after 15 minutes through their skipper Luis Boa Morte.

However, Adicks keeper Thomas Myhre will be disappointed he allowed Boa Morte’s free-kick in at his near post.

Charlton rallied and Euell headed an equaliser in the 26th minute.

But Fulham were back in front before the break when Boa Morte shot low past Myhre for his second goal.

The visitors had late chances to level but found Antti Niemi in superb form as he denied both Marcus Bent and Hermann Hreidarsson in stoppage time.

Charlton: Myhre, Spector, Sorondo, Perry, Hreidarsson, Kishishev (Thomas 60), Holland, Bothroyd 80), Euell, Ambrose, M Bent, D Bent.
Subs Not Used: Andersen, Powell, Sankofa.
Attendance: 19,146.
