MARK BENTLEY admitted the Gills players were disappointed to have only picked up a point against Millwall, writes Luke Cawdell.

The Gills failed to make the most of their early initiative which allowed Millwall to get level and return to south London with a point.

"The lads are disappointed and that’s two points dropped," said the Gills midfielder.

"For the first 30 minutes we were all over Millwall but just couldn’t get the second goal which was disappointing. Both teams missed chances in the second half.

"I felt we needed to prove a point (after the Swindon game) and I think we showed that certainly in the first half. But we’re just disappointed we didn’t get all three points.

"We want to make this place a fortress. We’ve got a great home record and we can look at it in a positive way and say we haven’t lost where we could have done."

Gillingham have gone a month without a manager and last week the chairman dispensed of the services of Ronnie Jepson’s former assistant Mick Docherty.
