CHARLTON have made Arsenal midfielder Alexandre Song their fourth capture in the January transfer window after signing him on loan for the rest of the season.

The 19-year-old follows Ben Thatcher, China captain Zheng Zhi and Madjid Bougherra into The Valley this month.

Cameroon-born Song, who is the nephew of former Liverpool defender Rigobert Song, joined Arsenal from French club Bastia for £2.75million in August, 2005 following a period on loan.

He was a member of the young Arsenal side that won 6-3 away to Liverpool in the Carling Cup earlier this month and has played in four major competitions for The Gunners.

Manager Alan Pardew said: "He will give us fresh legs in midfield."
