Armour's title fight postponed

JOHNNY ARMOUR: Disappointed
JOHNNY ARMOUR: Disappointed

KENT boxer Johnny Armour's third defence of his WBU bantamweight title has been postponed.

The fight was due to take place at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on March 8 but that has been called off after Armour’s team were unable to find a suitable opponent.

The scheduled opponent pulled out leaving Armour just a few weeks to focus on a new man in what could be a make-or-break fight for the Chatham man, so the fight has been put back.

Armour said: “I’ve been told it's going to be April now so I'm really disappointed. I was just getting myself up for the fight.

“I haven't fought since September and I really want to get in there and get this one out of the way so I can give myself a chance to fight WBC champion Johnny Bredahl. That's the one I really want.”
