Martin Allen has warned there will be more bad days like Wolves away but wants his players to believe they are good enough for League 1.

Gills were beaten 4-0 at Molineux last weekend by an expensively-assembled side who are expected to walk away with the league title.

Boss Allen said: “It’s quite clear they were better than us on the day. There’s no doubt.

“Everybody would have to accept and realise they’ve got a completely different budget level to us.

“They’ve got players who are top quality and, with a new manager, they’ve got some young energy in their team.

“There’s going to be times during the season when we have days like that, unfortunately.”
