Addicks winger torments England

ROMMEDAHL: Scored the first and set up the second Denmark goal

CHARLTON'S Dennis Rommedahl will be celebrating this morning after Denmark thrashed England 4-1 in a friendly in Copenhagen last night.

The Addicks winger opened the scoring early in the second half after a blunder by substitute England goalkeeper David James allowed Jon Dahl Tomasson to set him up for a tap in from a yard.

Rommedahl then returned the favour when he headed down for Tomasson to double the advantage four minutes later.

Denmark were 3-0 ahead soon afterwards when ex-Charlton midfielder Claus Jensen's corner was headed in by Michael Gravgaard via the arm of England's Steven Gerrard.

However, Rommedahl's Valley team-mate Darren Bent, who received a shock call up to the England squad at the weekend, enjoyed a less successful night.

Not only did he watch the side lose 4-1, he failed to make it onto the pitch for his first full cap on a night of disappointment for the English.
