Blackburn Rovers 4 – 1 Charlton Athletic

CHARLTON lost their perfect Premiership away record as they went down 4-1 to Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park on Saturday.

The home side took the lead after just two minutes when Brett Emerton smashed in a rocket of a shot from just inside the penalty area.

And it was 2-0 inside 18 minutes after Paul Dickov was left all alone to head in Lucas Neill’s cross.

But Charlton were soon back in the match as Bryan Hughes ghosted in behind the defence to knock in Darren Bent’s centre.

But the home side restored their two-goal advantage on the hour when Morten Gamst Pedersen got on the end of Steven Reid’s right wing cross.

Craig Bellamy completed the rout in stoppage time.

Charlton: Andersen, Young, Perry, Hreidarsson, Spector, Kishishev, Hughes, Murphy (Bothroyd 70), Rommedahl (El Karkouri 70), Ambrose (Thomas 83), Bent.
Subs Not Used: Myhre, Holland.
