CHARLTON withstood a second half battering from Reading on Monday night to emerge clutching a second priceless point from their Easter programme.

Cenral defender Talal El Karkouri went closest to scoring for Charlton in the fourth minute when he soared to meet Darren Ambrose's free-kick and send a header against the underside of the Reading crossbar.

Charlton goalkeeper Scott Carson produced an excellent save to foil Reading midfielder Seol in the 24th minute before Reading went on to dominate the second half.
