CHARLTON have not given up in their attempts to sign unsettled Hibernian midfielders Kevin Thomson and Scott Brown in the January transfer window.

Head coach Les Reed confirmed: "We put in a bid which Hibs found unacceptable. But we will persevere because I’m determined to get the right players who can enhance the squad we’ve got.

"Those two fit the bill, though they are contracted to Hibs and it’s not for me to comment further."

Charlton, who lodged a £3million bid for the pair, are also thought to be interested in the former Hearts midfielder and captain Steven Pressley who left the club earlier this month.
