Two teenagers have been bailed by police following a suspicious fire at two new homes being built in Kent.

The blaze broke out just after 9pm Saturday and damaged the properties at the building site in Milne Road, Willesborough, near Ashford.

A 13-year-old and 16-year-old, both local to the area, have been told to report again to police on June 25 after further investigations are carried out into how the fire started.

Six appliances, a height vehicle and almost 40 firefighters were called to the blaze.

Station manager Lee Rose said: "It was a set of five terraced homes which had been built but were not completed internally. The fire had spread to another of the homes but we managed to stop if affecting the rest of the row.

"The fire was under control by midnight but two crews were still at the scene on Sunday morning damping down."
