Young woman in tipper truck tragedy

A PEDESTRIAN in her 20s has died after being involved in a late-night collision with a tipper lorry .

The incident happened in Sydenham Road, Sydenham, at about 11pm on Friday. Police say they believe they know the identity of the victim, but await formal identification.

The woman was in collision with an orange and black Leyland DAF tipper truck. She was pronounced dead at 0.15am, on Saturday.

A man was arrested in connection with the incident and has been bailed to a date in February 2008. Police say enquires are ongoing.
