Young man shot in leg at pub

DETECTIVES have appealed for information after an 18-year-old man was shot in the leg at a Kent pub.

Armed police officers were called to the incident at the White Lion in High Street, Cheriton, near Folkestone, at about 9.20pm on Friday night.

The victim, a local man, was taken to hospital with a gunshot wound which detectives say is not thought to be life-threatening.

A 35-year-old man, who also lives locally, has been arrested on suspicion of causing grevious bodily harm.

The pub was cordoned off while police examined the scene and witnesses were interviewed.
