A 21-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder following a fight in the street.

Lee Bullen is accused of killing 23-year-old Drew Shepherd who died from injuries he sustained in Goudhurst Road, Twydall, in the early hours of last Friday morning.

Bullen, of Heritage Drive, Gillingham, spoke only to confirm his name and address to Medway magistrates on Monday.

He was remanded in custody until February 20 when a preliminary hearing will be held at Maidstone Crown Court.

Four people were arrested after the incident. Police have released three of them without charge.

Detectives are appealing for anyone in Goudhurst Road or the Twydall Green area who may have seen or heard a disturbance to contact Kent Police on 01622 690690 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
