Workman airlifted to hospital after falling 30ft from ladder in Ramsgate

A workman has been flown to hospital after falling 30ft from a ladder in Ramsgate town centre.

The man - believed to be in his 40s - was working on the roof of a building near to McDonald's, in King Street, when the accident happened this morning.

Specialist equipment had to be used by Kent Fire and Rescue crews to rescue the worker, who fell into an inaccessible ditch at about 10am.

The Kent Air Ambulance then rushed the man to King's College Hospital in London.

The man's condition is unknown.
