Woman rescued from house fire

A woman was rescued by firefighters from a house blaze in Ramsgate early today.

Crews were called to the semi-detached property in Lorina Road at 5.51am.

An elderly woman and two children had managed to escape before firefighters arrived.

The four people were taken to hospital to be checked over.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service says three appliances were sent to fight the blaze.

They were at the scene for 80 minutes.

They cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
