Police outside Poppy's Cafe in Halfway after a robbery

A woman has been injured this morning after being attacked by two robbers.

Police cordoned off Poppy's Cafe in Minster Road, Halfway, after the raid at 6.20am.

Two men are said to have entered the cafe and threatened the owner, taking a small amount of cash from the till.

She was hit twice by one of them and suffered injuries to her head and face before the men ran out the back door.

One of them is described as white, late 40s, around 6ft, with short light brown hair and was well-spoken, wearing a blue jacket and a white top.

The other is described as being of eastern European appearance, around 5ft 6ins, with scruffy short black hair and wearing dark trousers and a burnt orange coloured t-shirt, with a tattoo on his right arm.
