Woman held over stabbing incident

A YOUNG woman has been arrested following an alleged domestic dispute in which a man was stabbed.

Police say a 22-year-old man from Gillingham underwent emergency surgery at Medway Maritime Hospital at the weekend. His condition is reported to be "stable".

Police were called to an address in Gillingham Road, Gillingham, at about 9.25pm on Sunday after reports that a man had been stabbed.

A Medway Police spokesman said: “South East Coast Ambulance Service conveyed a man to hospital with a stab wound to his chest. He suffered a serious injury which required surgery. However, his condition is not described as being life-threatening.

“A 29-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the incident. She is currently in police custody.”
