Woman driver target for racial abuse

Two teenage yobs spat at a black woman and racially abused her as she drove along Darnley Road, Strood.

The incident is being investigated by police after the pair, who were both riding BMX-style bikes, rode passed her and spat in her car window.

Officers hope a passerby who spoke to the boys after the incident will come forward and speak to them.

The incident took place on Monday, September 22, at 12.30pm, but details have only just been released by police.

The boys are white, around 16, with slight builds and about 5ft 6in.

One is thought to have blonde, straight hair and was wearing a black tracksuit.

The other has short brown hair and was wearing a black and white striped top and black trousers.

PC Terry Sims from the specialist hate crime unit, said: “Incidents such as this are completely inexcusable and will not be tolerated by the police.

“We ask anyone who witnessed the incident, or who knows the boys involved, to contact us and assist with our investigation’.
