Woman driver seriously hurt in crash

A WOMAN was critically injured after her car was in collision with another vehicle during this morning’s rush hour.

Police, ambulance crews, firefighters and the Kent Air Ambulance were all called to Chart Hill Road, Staplehurst, near Maidstone, at around 9.15am.

Two women were involved, one driving a Renault Clio and the other a Volvo. The driver of the Clio was taken to Maidstone Hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries. She remains critically ill in hospital this afternoon.

The road was closed in both directions until 1pm. Police are investigating the incident, and are appealing for witnesses.
