Woman dies after motorbike crash

A woman has died after a motorbike crash on Boxing Day.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the smash on the A21 near Tonbridge.

A motorbike was travelling towards Sevenoaks on the A21 when it left the carriageway, just north of the A26, at around 10.45am.

The motorbike rider was seriously injured, and airlifted to a London hospital, but his female passenger died at the scene.

Anyone with any information or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit witness line on 01622 798538.

Police are particularly keen to hear from the driver of a black Fiat Punto who joined the A21 behind the motorcycle, and who may have information that will help with the investigation.

Chief Inspector Dave Pate said: ‘This is a tragic incident and our sympathies are with the families and friends of those involved."
