Woman cut free from car in Maidstone

A woman has been cut free from her car after a crash this afternoon.

The accident happened at about 12.10pm in Maidstone's Stockett Lane at the junction of Busbridge Road.

Fire crews used hydraulic equipment to release the woman, who is believed to be in her 20s.

Her car, a Nissan Micra, had crashed with a Mercedes Sprinter van.

The woman was taken to hospital as a precaution.

Stockett Lane remained closed at 2pm while police supervised the removal of the vehicles.
