Woman critical after Cuxton car park crash

A woman is fighting for her life this morning after being hit by a car in Cuxton.

Kent Police said she is in a critical condition in the Royal London Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The woman, who was a pedestrian, is in her early 40s and is understood to live in Strood.

She was hit by a vehicle in the car park of Cuxton Social Club, in Bush Road, just after 11.20am yesterday.

A Kent Air Ambulance helicopter was scambled at about 11.35am and landed in a nearby field.

A spokesman said she had suffered a "very serious head injury" and was flown to a special neurosurgical centre.
