A 37-year-old Hythe woman has been charged with child neglect after a girl was left in a pushchair in Folkestone Library.

The woman is due before magistrates on March 14 after the alleged incident at the Grace Hill library on Tuesday afternoon.

Kent Police earlier said the girl, aged about two or three, was found when staff were locking up.

Officers issued an urgent appeal to find a woman seen leaving the library.
