With a sparkle, crackle and....BANG!

Remember, remember fireworks night is approaching. Give a penny for the Guy and push in those earplugs as explosions light up the sky across Kent.

Great Lines Heritage Park, Gillingham

This professional display lasts about half an hour but visitors are asked not to bring their own fireworks, sparklers or pets. Medway Council's Howard Doe said: "The Great Lines fireworks display allows people to have not just a fun evening but also a safe one - and it's also free. And once again the Royal Engineers have kindly volunteered to build the big bonfire for us, so we thank them very much for their continued support."

Open: Bonfire lit from 7pm, fireworks from 7.30pm on Saturday, November 5.

Hop Farm, Paddock Wood

A child-friendly show set to Disney music will have fewer loud bands to avoid terrorising the tots. That is followed by the disco inferno family display. The following day will see a lively bonfire lit and a full-blown fireworks display set to songs from musicals. Visitors are invited to bring along their own Guy Fawkes to throw on the bonfire. Throughout the weekend there will be a traditional fun fair.

Open: Child-friendly and disco inferno displays from 6pm on Saturday, November 5. Full display from 5pm on Sunday, November 6.

Kent County Cricket Club, Canterbury

Be bowled over by the rockets and explosions above the St Lawrence Ground. There will be face painting, glow sticks, a funfair and refreshments.

Open: Gates from 6pm, fireworks at 8.20pm no Friday, November 4.

Kent Life, Maidstone

Fire breathers will draw a few gasps as they light the bonfire before the candy floss and toffee apples from the fun fair get those mouths occupied again. The show has been put together by Phoenix Fireworks, the team behind the firework displays at the London Eye for New Years Eve over the past few years. There will be a hog roast, and a bar in the village hall.

Open: From 4.30pm to 9pm on Saturday, November 5. Bonfire lit at 7.15pm, fireworks start at 8pm.

Cost: £9.50, concessions £8.50, children £7.50, under fours free.

Leeds Castle

Set to space-themed music, this fireworks display includes tunes from film and television. For the first time fireworks will be let off from floating pontoons on the moat.

Before the display begins, there will be an open air screening of a space-themed film for children on the Cedar Lawn. Jazz singer Adam Chandler will be there with his band and there will be face painting and fairground rides. The more adventurous can try zorbing on the inside giant inflatable spheres in the grounds of the castle.

Open: Gates from 2pm and fireworks start at 5.30pm on Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6.

Cost: £18, children £10, under fours free if reserved at the time of booking.

Mount Ephraim, Faversham

Against the backdrop of this traditional Edwardian House is a traditional fireworks display, complete with a licensed bar and food stalls. Organised by the Dawes Community Association, the charity event raises money for childcare, sports and social facilities for the people of Hernhill.

Open: Gates from 6pm with fireworks beginning at 7.30pm on Saturday, November 5.

Cost: £12, each ticket admits one adult and up to three under 14s.

Quex Park, Birchington

A 30-foot bonfire will preceed a 20-minute fireworks display but the whole park will be ablaze with entertainment including live music, food and drink tents and fairground rides. The event supports charities including Demelza House and AZAR.

Open: Gates from 4pm, bonfire lit from 6.30pm and fireworks from 7.30pm on Saturday, November 5.

Riverside Leisure Area, Gravesend

Live music from Stan Lee King's Boogie Box and Taxi Run will add a sense of occasion to proceedings at the area known as the Prom. The fireworks will light up the Thames and there will be food stalls and a funfair.

Open: Gates from 6pm on Friday, November 4. Music from 6.45pm, fireworks from 8pm. Funfair arrives on Thursday, November 3.
