Who broke speed limit in my car?

An angry motorist is claiming his high-performance Audi was driven more than a dozen times over the speed limit during the time he left it at a specialist

dealership for a service.

Audi UK says it is now investigating a complaint by Mark Reece about the

mystery journeys his Audi RS 4 allegedly took while it should have been in a service bay.

Mr Reece had put his car in for its annual service while he was on a 10-day business trip to America.

He had arranged with staff at the dealership in Bexley, to leave his car

there while he was away.

When he came back to pick up his pride and joy, he claims it was covered in fingerprints and not in the condition he had left it.

He then checked the records on his computerised tracker device.

Mr Reece, 37, an IT specialist from Rochester, said: "I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what had been done with the car.

"Not only had it been driven for 16-miles around Bexley, Blackfen, and North

Cray, whoever was driving it had broken the speed limit many times in a 30-mile an hour zones.

"On several occasions it was driven over 60mph in residential streets and even once reached a speed of 67.7 mph."

"I understand after it has been serviced it may have to be driven around a bit, but breaking the speed limit in a 30 zone is just not on."

Mr Reece complained to the dealership, but says their response was inadequate.

He added: "My tracker device clearly shows that on some roads the speed limit had been broken by at least 30 mph.

"Not only that, someone had driven for 16 miles through the area and had started the car up at least 27 times.

He has not yet received any notification of speeding penalties

A spokesman for Audi UK, said: "We are looking into the alleged issues relating to the service on Mark Reece's Audi RS 4.

"Whilst this servicing work is the direct responsibility of the Audi Centre

commissioned to carry this out, Audi UK does maintain and enforce very high standards throughout our franchised network.

"The specific allegations relating to the routine service road test are receiving our particular attention. Until the data from the Tracker fitted to the customer's car can be more fully interrogated and verified, we can not comment further.

"Our initial inspection of the data provided by Mr Reece has been inconclusive.

"We will continue to maintain a close dialogue with the customer and the centre with a view to resolving all the issues via the Audi centre involved."
