Whitstable Town recorded a morale-boosting 3-0 victory over fellow strugglers Ashford Town at the Belmont on Saturday in the first of two 'six-pointers' between the teams in Ryman League Division 1 South inside five days.

The Oystermen moved off the bottom and leap-frogged their rivals thanks to a bullet-header and a blasted finish from skipper Sam Denly (pictured) on 21 and 42 minutes before former Ashford man Joe Hitchings rounded-off the scoring with a cool finish on the hour.

The pair meet for the second time at Homelands on Wednesday night.

Folkestone Invicta maintained their joint-lead in Ryman League Division 1 South after a 3-1 win over Burgess Hill Town at Buzzlines Stadium on Saturday. Goals from Frankie Chappell, Darren Smith and Josh Vincent sealed a fine win which made it 22 points from a possible 24 in their past eight games.
