Whatever you do, don't telephone 0906 6611911

KENT Police are warning the public about a postal scam which has been confirmed by Royal Mail and is especially relevant as Christmas approaches.

The scam works like this: a card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service).

It suggests that they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911 (a premium rate number).

Kent Police media officer Jon Green advised: "Do not call this number. This is a scam originating from Belize.

"If you did call the number and you started to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call."

Anyone receiving a card containing these details is asked to contact the Royal Mail

fraud department on 0207 2396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at

www.icstis.org.uk, or your local trading standards office.
