Water way to have a good time

WATER-LOVERS can continue making a splash long after summer has disappeared this year.

The Splash Park in Upper Belvedere is now open during the winter months following a campaign by local residents and ward councillors.

A temporary fence has been put up around the rubber splash zone to protect that area during the colder weather.

The recreation area will operate normal opening and closing times and, in addition, the public toilets will also be available.

Belvedere cllr David Leaf (con) said: "These changes are an important investment in Belvedere to improve the quality of life for many local residents."

"The opening of the recreation area means that people can enjoy the park area and elderly residents can use it as a short cut between Woolwich Road and Heron Hill.
