Vicious attack victim may need plastic surgery

A 21-year-old man suffered severe facial injuries when he was set upon by another man while trying to find a taxi in a Kent town.

The attack took place near a bus stop at the Medway Valley Leisure Park at Strood, near Rochester.

Police say they believe the victim was punched and kicked by a man who had been with a woman at the bus stop.

He was taken to East Grinstead Hospital and it is thought he may need plastic surgery.

The offender is described as white, aged between 20 and 25, around 6ft tall and of slim build. He had short black hair and was wearing a white shirt.

DC Graham Leighton said: "The victim of this attack has been left with painful injuries which may scar him for life and serve as a constant reminder of his ordeal."

Anyone with information about the attack, which happened between midnight and 12.30am on Friday, is asked to contact police on 01634 792528 or Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
