A teenage girl was kicked and punched to the ground while her attacker's friends filmed the assault on their mobile phones.

Kelsey Holsten, 17, was the victim of an unprovoked attack by another girl at The Strand in Gillingham on Monday evening.

She was left bruised and battered by the beating.

Her attacker's friends, all girls, filmed the vicious attack on their mobile phones and taunted her that the footage would be put on YouTube.

Kelsey’s 12-year-old brother, Jamie, who witnessed the beating, is said to be traumatised.

They had been to a funfair at The Strand.

Kelsey, from Gillingham, has been left with a swollen and bruised left eye and a haemorrhage in her right eye, as well as bruises on the side of her head and her shoulder. She was taken to hospital on Monday night and had to see an eye specialist at Maidstone Hospital on Tuesday.

Kelsey is recovering at home but says she is too scared to go out.
