A man died when the van he was driving crashed at a Kent roundabout. The incident happened at around 5.45am on Tuesday on the A20 at the Western Heights roundabout, near Dover.

The victim's white panel van was the only vehicle involved.

The road was closed for several hours while emergency services removed the man from the wreckage and arranged for the vehicle to be recovered.

Traffic stretched back for several miles from Folkestone towards Dover, causing chaos for rush-hour motorists.

The identity of the man - thought to be in his early 60s - is not being revealed until his next of kin are informed.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
