Two seriously hurt in head-on crash

TWO drivers were badly injured today when their cars were involved in a head-on collision near Maidstone. A red Vauxhall Nova and a Fiat Bravo collided on the A20 between Harrietsham and Bearsted.

An air ambulance from London flew to the scene of the crash to treat the 42-year-old Vauxhall driver, from Ashford. He was airlifted to the Whitechapel Hospital in London with serious head injuries.

A spokeswoman for the Kent Ambulance Service aid: “It would appear that he was conscious and talking to paramedics.”

The other driver, a man in his 50s, was taken to Maidstone Hospital by ambulance with chest injuries. The crash happened at about 8am.
