Elderly siblings escaped serious injury after their car flipped over in a supermarket car park.

A man in his 70s was driving into Morrisons car park in Strood when he is thought to have clipped a kerb and struck a lamppost before overturning and colliding with a parked van. The accident happened at around 12.20pm on Thursday.

The man and his sister, who was sat in the passenger seat, were both taken to Medway Maritime Hospital suffering from shock and minor injuries.

The police are now investigating the cause of the accident. It is not known if any other cars were involved.
